Lauren D. Loya, M.D. is originally from Greensburg, PA. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, she obtained her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, IL.

 

Upon completing her residency at the University of Illinois-Chicago, Dr. Loya joined the faculty and served as Assistant Residency Director of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Residency Program.

 

She also served on the faculty of the UPMC family practice residency program in Pittsburgh, PA. She served as Assistant Affiliate Medical Director for the Fibro and Fatigue Centers/Chronicity. She is Board Certified in Family Practice.  Dr. Loya is the owner of The Hormone Center.

 

Amy Hursh, D.O. is originally from Rhode Island.  She graduated from Muhlenberg College (Allentown, PA) with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  She obtained her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. 

 

She performed her Family Practice Residency at Frankford Hospital. Upon completing her residency she worked for the U.S. Navy at the Naval Weapon Station in New Jersey where she helped run the wellness program for the medical clinic on base.

 

Upon moving to Pittsburgh Dr. Hursh worked for a private medical practice.  Dr. Hursh’s philosophy:  “I believe that the body has the ability to heal itself as long as it has the proper elements supporting it.”  As a former competitive athlete, Dr. Hursh knows that diet, exercise, and sleep are vital to feeling 100%.  “I am happy to be working with The Hormone Center and doing something that I believe in. This area of medicine is innovative and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”

 

 

Jeannie Anderson, N.D.

Jeanie L. Anderson is a Doctor of Naturopathy (ND) and a member of the National Association of Certified Natural Health Professionals (CNHP). Dr. Anderson graduated from the Trinity School of Natural Healing.  

 

She holds certifications in Total Body Modification, Energy Systems Maintenance, Natural Healing, Nutrition, Iridology, Reams Testing, Dried Blood Cell Analysis, Bach Flower Remedies, Reflexology, Children’s Health, Hormone Health, Healing Emotions, Muscle Testing and Student of Ortho-Bionomy®. Using these various techniques, she assists patients by focusing on the probable base causes of their problems instead of only addressing the obvious symptoms. 

 

Dr. Anderson was the founder of Anderson Health Emporium and a veteran of several natural food stores prior to joining The Hormone Center. She has over 30 years experience in helping people create a healthier lifestyle through education, counseling and the application of natural healing techniques. Living and practicing under the belief that the vast majority of human ailments are caused by the pressures and abuses of a modern lifestyle, her focus is on “preventive maintenance” of our bodies so as to keep them capable of defending and protecting themselves. 

 

 

Jennifer Hook, CRNP, is originally from Butler, PA. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from Slippery Rock University, Jen completed her Masters of Science from Slippery Rock and Clarion Universities. She has been a Certified Nurse Practitioner for 18 years and her diverse experiences include mental health and behavior modification. Additionally Jen has worked with digestive disorders for patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Jen enjoys working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care. She most recently joined the The Hormone Center from Butler Integrative Medicine. As Jen states: “I love being part of The Hormone Center team where we never stop looking for solutions to help patients!” In addition to being Nationally Certified in Family Medicine through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Jen trained directly under Dr. Lauren Loya.
